Press Release 10th June 08
A success story.
In the last Chamber Link magazine we reported on Backstage Events and their impressive start to 2008, securing contracts for audio visual support for various clients throughout the UK. The one area company director, Stuart Brown was keen to build on was links within the local business community. Dave Mulligan, marketing manager for Stirling Lloyd, a leading manufacturer of specialist coatings and highway maintenance products, who are based in Knutsford, read the article in Chamber link and contacted Backstage and asked them to quote to provide their services at Stirling Lloyd’s “Bucking the Trend” conference taking place at Mere Golf and Country club on the 6th June. After a meeting at the conference venue in May between Dave and Stuart, a quote was submitted and Backstage were appointed as the production company at Stirling Lloyd’s event.
Backstage arrived on site at 05.00 on the morning of the event to rig the meeting room providing a stage set, projector, computers, PA and a 42inch floor monitor, but more importantly a friendly and knowledgeable crew. The rig was complete by 08.30 and the room was ready for show rehearsals which took place throughout the morning. Backstage technicians were on hand at all times to make sure that the presenters were comfortable with their surroundings and to make any last minute alterations if necessary. The meeting commenced at 14.00 with Stirling Lloyd’s Managing Director, David Lloyd opening the conference, and from there various employees took to the stage to report on previous business and their visions for the future. The meeting closed at 17.00 when the delegates were provided with a superb buffet and drinks to finish off a successful day.
Stuart Brown says “It just goes to show that involving yourself within the local business community does pay dividends. I wasn’t sure that contributing to the magazine and attending the networking meetings was going to help my business, but as a company I wanted to develop a local client base, as well as a national and international one so I was prepared to give it a go. It has proved to be a very fruitful exercise, without the chamber link article we would not have won this contract, so I would like to say thank you to the chamber for that. I would also like to say a big thank you to Dave Mulligan and Nicoll Walsh of Stirling Lloyd as they were a pleasure to work with on this event and I very much hope that we will work together again in the future”
